Trillian is a software that offers a multinetwork Instant Messenger application. Social networking sites such as MySpace, IM, Skype and Facebook and search engines such as Google, AIM, ICQ, MSN, Yahoo and IRC use Trillian. Skypekit.exe activates all functionalities Trillian has. The EXE file allows the users to chat using applicable websites. It also provides Twitter and Facebook alerts and a facility to check email. Skypekit.exe can help the users with their Twitter and Facebook activities. For example, in Twitter, the user can shorten the URL in his or her tweets. The software Trillian controls direct messages, re-tweets and replies. In Facebook, there is news feed integration, checking of inbox, synchronized message updating and instant messenger (IM). The skypekit.exe file provides a drag and drop file transfer, skins, notifications and other adjustments made in the preference menu. Besides these features, the software has undergone performance improvements and provides support for IM protocols.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. skypekit.exe. is used by Trillian, If you shut down skypekit.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop skypekit.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Trillian, from your system.

After uninstalling applications it is a good idea to scan you Windows registry for any left over traces of applications. Registry Reviver by ReviverSoft is a great tool for doing this.

A process usually a part of an installed application such as Trillian, or your operating system that is responsible for running in functions of that application. Some application require that they have processes running all the time so they can do things such as check for updates or notify you when you get an instant message. Some poorly written applications have many processes that run that may not be required and take up valuable processing power within your computer.
