The skchui.dll process is a modular component file stored in the Dynamic Link Library (DLL) format, and this process is bundled with the other modular DLLs, program files and system drivers that are required by the Microsoft Windows Vista system to implement the Draw Pen Tip functionality for certain built-in and third party Windows applications designed for Windows-based desktops and tablet computers. This means the skchui.dll module is used and referenced by the Draw Pen Tip feature of Microsoft Windows Vista when a compatible wireless pen is connected to the system and used to create drawings in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint among other supported programs. The skchui.dll module is also used and referenced by the Microsoft Handwriting Input UI module, which is integrated into Microsoft Windows Vista. The skchui.dll file is included in the Windows Vista installation distribution package and placed in the system upon the installation of Windows Vista.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. skchui.dll. is used by Microsoft Handwriting Input UI Module and Microsoft Windows Vista, If you shut down skchui.dll, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop skchui.dll, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Microsoft Handwriting Input UI Module and Microsoft Windows Vista, from your system.
