The shortcut.exe file is known by a service name ShortCut Autotype Application, also called Keyboard Macro Application, which is bundled in the software ShortCut, a program developed by Andreas Viebke. It has a feature that is similar to the basic shortcut applications that are able to send simulated key presses to other programs. This is an application that lets a user navigate and control the different programs installed on the computer with easy and fast access. Regardless of its objective, if a user finds this important, the shortcut.exe process must be kept stored and running in the system. If this file is deleted, the application that houses it is not going to work. It can disable the function of the ShortCut Autotype Application. Other modules that call for shortcut.exe file are not also executed, since this file is only one of the components that make the program work and functional. It can have an effect of the different tasks of the ShortCut software.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. shortcut.exe. is used by ShortCut, If you shut down shortcut.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop shortcut.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is ShortCut, from your system.
