The sfw.exe process is an executable file for PC Firewall Main Module developed by SFirewall Service. It is an executable file that runs the Firewall program during startup. This PC Firewall helps users to prevent any unauthorized access to the computer and reject unrequested connections when online. It keeps both the security applications and other applications up-to-date in the computer. This Firewall function minimizes the risks of being connected online and being the target of online viruses and network attacks. It is a separate system service that can run operationally without any application needed to run it. The Firewall has two types the Hardware and the Software Firewall. The Hardwar Firewall is for controlling network traffic filtering. It ranges from external devices, to router components, and motherboards. A specific software is needed for its installation. The Software Firewall on the other hand is automatically installed in the user PC and performs the same traffic filtering as the Hardware Firewall. SFirewall Service is a Software Firewall.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. sfw.exe. is used by PC Firewall Main Module, If you shut down sfw.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop sfw.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is PC Firewall Main Module, from your system.
