The setup.dll module is created to support the TextBridge application. It has been developed by InstallShield Software Corporation. InstallShield Software Corporation offers development tools for Windows software. It works with installation for Windows platforms. The setup.dll file is the installation program of the TextBridge application which is considered as an efficient Optical Character Recognition application. The setup.dll file allows the user to convert printouts to electronic documents. This conversion process produces documents which is easy for the user to edit. The DLL file allows any Microsoft Windows application like Word, to open scanned images of the documents. Whatever Windows application that suit the documents, the user can open them using that particular application. It enables TextBridge to read documents in different file formats such as BMP, TIF, PCX, XIF, DCX and WinFax Pro. TextBridge can also open files on colored papers, hardcopy fax, spreadsheets, dual pages, photocopies and tabular documents.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. setup.dll. is used by TextBridge Pro 96, If you shut down setup.dll, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop setup.dll, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is TextBridge Pro 96, from your system.

After uninstalling applications it is a good idea to scan you Windows registry for any left over traces of applications. Registry Reviver by ReviverSoft is a great tool for doing this.

Some application require that they have processes running all the time so they can do things such as check for updates or notify you when you get an instant message. Some poorly written applications have many processes that run that may not be required and take up valuable processing power within your computer.
