What is  searchsettings.exe

The Search Settings application or the searchsettings.exe process was developed by Spigot, Inc., which belongs to the software YouTube Downloader Toolbar or Search Settings. This process is usually bundled with several toolbars which includes YouTube Downloader, MyBrowserBar and others. This EXE file is considered an adware with the potentiality of being unwanted as it is bundled with an amount of several applications. The file is considered to be unsafe if the user considers his browsing habits to be confidential. It can cause a variety of other applications to behave in an unexpected manner and can consume a sizable amount of resources even when unused. The searchsettings.exe process also has the tendency to remain glued within the computer system and cannot be easily uninstalled if or when the user decides it no longer wants the process within his system files. Reports of possible damage to the computer are present as anti-virus programs consider the searchsettings.exe file a threat.
