What is seaport.exe
Microsoft Search Enhancement Pack features an application known as Microsoft SeaPort Search Enhancement Broker for the Microsoft Bing Bar, which comes with the executable file seaport.exe. In most instances, users are unaware that the file has been installed into their system. Generally, the file is installed when you install any of Microsoft’s Live Windows applications, i.e. Live Messenger, Live Toolbar, Live Mail, or Live Writer. The file is responsible for searching for updates for the Windows Live applications that you have installed on the computer. If any updates are found, it will automatically update the application; or it will prompt you that an update is ready to install. Users find that the process consumes a large percentage of CPU resources, which then compels them to disable the file from running as a startup service. The startup name for the process is SeaPort. It has a known file size of 221.34 KB. You can find it saved in the following directory: C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Search Enhancement Pack\seaport.exe.
