The file sealmon.exe, known as SealedMedia Unsealer, belongs to software Oracle Information Rights Management Desktop by Oracle, which is an information security solution that uses encryption to seal documents and emails. Only authorized end users can access and use sealed documents and emails, regardless of where they are stored or used. Authorized end users of Oracle IRM create and use sealed contents within existing desktop applications like Microsoft Office, Adobe Reader, and Lotus Notes. They are not required to understand or manage encryption keys and passwords. To enable end users to create and use sealed documents and emails within existing desktop applications, the Oracle IRM Desktop client software must be installed. The Desktop application authenticates users and transparently request rights from the Oracle IRM Server. The Oracle IRM Desktop while continuing to track and protect sealed documents and emails that are in use within those applications supports current and previous versions of all standard desktop document and email applications.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. sealmon.exe. is used by Oracle Information Rights Management Desktop, If you shut down sealmon.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop sealmon.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Oracle Information Rights Management Desktop, from your system.
