The se.exe file is an executable process that has been reported to be a malicious program with functionalities for gathering Internet surfing data from the default Web browser of the system. According to some user reports, the se.exe process is a variant of the Search-Exe Hijacker, which is a known spyware application that can compromise the data security and privacy of the infected system. The se.exe process has been reported to be capable of automatically initializing during system startup because of the keys and entries it can create and inject into the Windows System Registry without user consent. The se.exe process has also been reported to be capable of operating as a background process without the knowledge of the user, in order to collect Internet surfing data and transmit it to predesignated Web servers that are managed by the authors of the Search-Exe Hijacker spyware program. The se.exe process has also been reported to be capable of initializing pop-up ads using the currently active Web browser.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. se.exe. is used by Search-Exe Hijacker, If you shut down se.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop se.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Search-Exe Hijacker, from your system.
