What is  sched.exe

Avira Antivirus can run PC scans at scheduled points, as determined by the user; and the process is executed through the file sched.exe. The scheduler, as mentioned, automatically scans the computer at a specified time of the day; on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. User can also choose not to run the scheduler, and instead run scans manually. If scheduler is not being utilized, it is still recommended to have it running in the background, because aside from enabling automatic scans, the process also searches for updates for the antivirus program; and when such updates are available, the file prompts the user that an update is available and ready for installation. The user can also have the updates automatically installed, upon which they will be prompted that their AV program has just been updated. The file is located at C:\Progam Files\Avira\Antivir Desktop\ sched.exe. Physical memory allotted is estimated at 2.3 MB, while file size is 84.2 KB.
