What is  scbar.exe

The process scbar.exe is an executable file that can monitor a user’s browsing activities and distributes the collected data for analysis into the server then back to the user’s computer. This process is also called SCBar designed by MKS Informatique for the software 20-20 v6.0 Shortcut Bar. This is normally located on the “C:\Program Files” subfolder with file size of 139,264 bytes on Windows XP and Windows 7 computers. This is also said to be a marketing process by SearchEnhancement, a product that initiates the advertisement popups on a user’s computer and browser. This process is a non-system process meaning it does not automatically get installed on a user’s PC without the user initiating the installation or downloading of certain software from the internet. Since this is a non-system process file, it cannot affect the performance of the computer whether it is installed or uninstalled but having too many applications like it may cause errors on the system. Users can opt to remove the file as they choose.
