What is  scan32.exe

The scan32.exe process, prevently known as the 32 Bit Scanner or VirusScan On-Demand Scanner or On-Demand Scanner, originated from the software McAfee AntiSpyware Enterprise or McAfee Virus Scan Enterprise. This process is available whenever the user is protected by the McAfee Virus Scan. The scan32.exe file is needed in order to provide protection for the user’s computer system as the anti-virus prevents the possible hazards of garnering malicious threats that can be found on the Internet, such as Trojans, malware, spyware and other viruses. This process scans the computer system for possible threats. The scan32.exe file can be run in interactive mode, which can enable the user to terminate the process. However, it is not advisable to run a scan whenever the user is using his computer system as there is a tendency for the process to slow down the system. The process is up to date and it usually schedules a date of when to run a scan.
