What is router.exe
The process router.exe is an executable file that is part of the software Routing Service. The Routing Service is a generic, dynamically configurable and pluggable Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) intermediary which acts as a communication router. It has the ability to “route” or direct messages based on the content of the message. Then it allows a message to be sent to the client server based on a value within the message itself, either the header or message body. The Routing Service is under the implementation as a Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) service in the System Service Model Routing namespace. The routing service provides service accumulation, urgency course-plotting, active formation, and service versioning under content-based routing. It also has protocol linking, SOAP handling, backup targets, and advanced error solutions. This routing service is compatible with the WCF Service and Channel models.
