What is remotsvc.exe
The remotsvc.exe process, also named Retrospect, is an executable file that was developed by EMC Dantz or Dantz Development for the software Retrospect or Retrospect Client. It is not a Windows system file but is normally located in the “C:\Program Files” folder with 80% bytes size of 53,248 and at times 57,344 bytes on Windows operating systems computer. This process has no visible displayed window when it is running, therefore users cannot find icon for the process on the taskbar. This is a non-system process that can only be available on a user’s computer if he has initiated the downloading and installing of the program. It is possible that this application can store data into a user’s computer registry. Too many applications stored on the registry may cause poor PC performance when overloaded. Users can make use of the Microsoft System Configuration Utility to remove other applications running in the background that may not be needed.
