The file reg.exe is also known as the Reg MFC Application and is from the software D-Link Airplus G Wireless. This program is owned and developed by the Microsoft Corporation Company. The program is dealing the Wireless Network that is connected to Personal Computer for it is used to connect to the Internet. The file can be usually found in the C:\Program Files and has the known file size 24,576 bytes in the Hard Disk Drive (HDD). The program should start when the Personal Computer is commenced. The file has the registry key of HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders, HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run, HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Runonce, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\Userinit. The file reg.exe does not belong to the Windows core file and is not visible. However, the file is not recommended to be removed for the wireless network will not work. But the user may still have the option to remove the file by removing the entire program in which the file is associated with. The removal can be done by using the Add/Remove Programs located in the Control Panel of Microsoft Windows Operating System.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. reg.exe. is used by D-link Airplus G Wireless, If you shut down reg.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start.
