The qpservice.exe or QuickPlay service is a program application exclusively bundled in Hewlett-Packard Pavilion computers. HP QuickPlay service allows playing of audio and video CDs, DVDs, and MP3s without having to boot in the PC’s operating system. The qpservice.exe feature can be run from the Start menu by typing “quickplay” (without quotes) on the Search field and pressing Enter. Some HP Pavilion computers have a blue media icon that opens the qpservice.exe follow-on screen to run the program. The other icons are QuickPlay TV, QuickPlay Karaoke, QuickPlay DVD, QuickPlay Music Video Picture, QuickPlay Return to Windows, and QuickPlay Update where the qpservice.exe application can be updated or enhanced, or if the user needs to access the help feature. The QuickPlay help files can be accessed through the same way the qpservice.exe program is opened from the Start menu, and by clicking Update and selecting Help from the menu to view the help topics to choose from.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. qpservice.exe. is used by HP QuickPlay, If you shut down qpservice.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop qpservice.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is HP QuickPlay, from your system.
