The file pwsave.exe, known as ASUS Energy Saving, is part of the AI suite system management utility included with some ASUS motherboards. This utility provides four system performance profiles that adjust the processor frequency and vCore voltage for different computing needs. This utility also monitors the energy savings made with the EPU, and when the energy saving option of AI Gear 3+ is selected, it displays the status and provides access to the calculator. The EPU on the ASUS motherboard analyzes the system, including the CPU loading and IO usage, and subsequently regulate power as required to find a balance between energy saving, stable usage, and performance. The EPU is provided with an interface that enables the user to control the preferred type of energy saving.
