Power Manager is the most common process that is related to the executable file pwmdbsvc.exe. This process may be installed by Lenovo or IBM ThinkPad. The actual function of the process has something to do with management of power sources of the machines. Most users actually have no inkling about the file until they find it negatively affecting the system. What some users do know, and are actually quite certain of, is that the file came pre-installed on their Lenovo or IBM machines. The file does not appear to be a critical component of the machine or the system, which means that if the user deems it necessary to disable the file; it can be safely disabled without posing any risk to system performance or application functions. The file is launched as a Windows service, and can be found in the following directory: C:\Program Files\ThinkPad\Utilities\pwmdbsvc.exe. It is executed through the Windows file, explorer.exe. Its typical size is 65.28 KB.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. pwmdbsvc.exe. is used by Power Manager, If you shut down pwmdbsvc.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop pwmdbsvc.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Power Manager, from your system.

A process usually a part of an installed application such as Power Manager, or your operating system that is responsible for running in functions of that application.
