The prismsvc.exe file is an executable process included with certain modular components and program files that are needed by the firmware and driver software components of certain Intersil Prism wireless LAN devices. This means the prismsvc.exe process is packaged with the firmware and driver software installer distributions of supported Intersil Prism wireless networking equipment. This also means the prismsvc.exe process is installed in the system upon the installation of these associated Intersil Prism firmware and driver software components. The prismsvc.exe process is particularly integrated into the Prism Server Service module, which is an applet built into these associated Intersil Prism firmware and driver software resources. Whenever the system or the Intersil Prism wireless LAN device needs to load the Prism Server Service module unto the system, the prismsvc.exe process is activated, which in turn calls on other associated program files and references modular components in order to implement the required functionalities of the Prism Server Service module into the system.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. prismsvc.exe. is used by Intersil Prism Server Service Module, If you shut down prismsvc.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop prismsvc.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Intersil Prism Server Service Module, from your system.
