What is  ppopup.exe

The file ppopup.exe is known as popup that belong to the software Dell SAS RAID Storage Manager (SSM) from Dell. It runs proprietary switch mode called Simple Switch Mode or Simple connect. The file contains compressed (or zipped) set of files that is located in a subfolder of C:\Program files and is not visible. It loads with the Windows boot process. The process ppopup.exe listens for or sends data on open ports to a LAN (Local Area Network) or to the Internet. This application allows users to view information about managed systems, controllers, and the SSM subsystem that includes the hotspare drives, logical drives, and physical drives. The Simple Switch Mode (SSS) agent monitors and generates events for fatal or critical problems in the SSM configuration such as failed drivers or degraded drives. The benefits of the SSM technology include ease of deployment and management for I/O modules for Blade server connectivity, full integration of PowerConnect blade switches with third party I/O hardware, and the elimination of the need to understand VLAN, STP, and LACP groups.
