The file plusservice .exe is a component of the application Messenger Plus from Yuna Software. Messenger Plus is not a stand-alone application but is an add-on to Windows Live Messenger. Windows Live Messenger (MSN Messenger) is an instant messaging client created by Microsoft to work with Windows XP. The add-on Messenger Plus adds features and functionalities that include animations called winks that are video animations that can be included in messages, to add expression and fun features to messages sent to family and friends. It enables users to design and create a basic skin or use skins from the database to improve the visual effect of Windows Messenger Live. Other features include free recording of audio and video calls, recording of conversations to enable users to preview, log, or print stored chat log sessions, and send pre-recorded sounds during a conversation. The Smartbar for this application can be used to connect directly to social media accounts or to favorite applications and games.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. plusservice.exe. is used by Messenger Plus, If you shut down plusservice.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop plusservice.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Messenger Plus, from your system.
