The process plugin.exe belongs to software Modem Spy Pro, a tool for recording phone conversations direct into the PC. It can playback the recorded messages directly from the phone line or from the PC recording. The process enables automatic voice recording from the microphone, recording full conversations with an option to hide for stealth recording. The built-in software has automatic gain control that produces good quality recording of all conversations. In areas where stealth recording is prohibited, the user can activate a prompt service that notifies the caller that the conversation is being recorded. Other features of the software include caller identification service with a popup ID window, an optional answering machine mode, and one-click email sending with voice recording attachment. Converting the records into other voice formats like WAV and MP3 is possible if the user attaches the sound card to the modem, if the Caller ID system is compatible with the modem.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. plugin.exe. is used by Modem Spy Pro, If you shut down plugin.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop plugin.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Modem Spy Pro, from your system.
