Command-line SSH, Telnet, and Rlogin client has an internal name called plink.exe. The file belongs to the software PuTTY suite which was owned and developed by Simon Tatham. The program can transfer files from one Computer to another. The file can be usually located in the C:\Program Files and has the known file size of 294,912 bytes in the Hard Disk Drive (HDD). But the file size may vary when used in different version of Operating System such as the Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7. The file has the ability to send and receive data in the Local Area Network (LAN) and as well as the Internet. The file does not belong to the Windows Core files and the user may have the option to remove the file by removing the entire software in which the file is associated with. This can be done by using the Add/Remove Programs Utility.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. plink.exe. is used by PuTTy, If you shut down plink.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start.
