The process pdhookserver.exe is a process file for PowerDesk from Avanquest North America. This is a startup entry and is not a running process although users can find it in the Task Manager if it continues running after the startup. It is located in a subfolder of C:\Program Files and is a background process that gives users of PowerDesk the option to double-click a blank area of the desktop to launch the application. If users do not need this functionality, there is no need to have the process running. It can be disabled without affecting the functionality of PowerDesk. PowerDesk is a file manager with more features than a standard Windows file manager or other file management software. It is software with a nice organizational view, allows users to copy files from folder to folder, format external drives, and incorporate in other programs such as CCleaner. The clear, useful interface allows users to easily move, sort, and manipulate files by showing two directories in one window. Moving any file with a click is more convenient than the drag and drop tool used in other applications. PowerDesk can also compress files using Zip compression, launch other utilities such as Regedit, and securely delete files.
