The pcangel.exe file installs a backup and recovery program on the computer. It provides support for computers in cases where the hard drives suddenly crash. Powered by SoftThinks Technologies, the software enables users to create recovery disks, which can be used to restore the computer to its normal state after a system crash. Some newer computer models already have the software installed into their systems, as discovered by some users. In some cases, users purchase the software and install it manually into their computers. There were no available data found with regards to the effectiveness of the software, or how it communicates with other processes installed on the computer. Users who found the software already installed into their newly-purchased machines opt to keep the file to have additional support fin case of system failure. The file can be located in the following file path: C:\Windows\SMINT\ pcangel.exe. The file is launched as a Windows process during startup.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. pcangel.exe. is used by SoftThinks PC Angel, If you shut down pcangel.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop pcangel.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is SoftThinks PC Angel, from your system.
