The UPS management card by APC enables UPS management but it directly connects to the network by its IP address to avoid dependence to server. The UPS Network Management Card with PowerChute Network Shutdown enable safe server shutdown thru communication over a network connecting to any network-capably APC UPS or those containing an UPS Network Management Card.
