If you have Trend Micro PC-cillin Antivirus protecting your computer, the file patch.exe is an essential file that you should keep. The file provides automatic updates to your antivirus software. Updates are necessary to keep your antivirus current, which in return, is vital in keeping new viruses, worms, spyware and malware from infecting your system. An updated antivirus is especially important if you are a heavy Internet user, because the Internet is generally where all the malicious files are lurking. It is not recommended to disable the file, and the antivirus program from launching with startup.
