The osafsloc.sys process is a component system file included in the required program files, system drivers and modules of the firmware and driver software components that are packaged with certain Acer laptops and Intel hardware devices. The osafsloc.sys file is specifically used and referenced by the File System Lock Driver module of these Acer and Intel firmware and driver software resources. This also means the osafsloc.sys file is bundled with the firmware and driver software distributions of these supported Acer and Intel hardware devices. When the associated Acer or Intel hardware component needs to implement certain functionalities requested by the user that correspond to the File System Lock Driver module, the system and the Acer or Intel firmware and driver software resources activate the osafsloc.sys file and reference its source code.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. osafsloc.sys. is used by Acer or Intel File System Lock Driver Module, If you shut down osafsloc.sys, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop osafsloc.sys, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Acer or Intel File System Lock Driver Module, from your system.
