The orb.exe process is an Orb that belongs to the Orb Application and it is owned by the Orb Networks, Inc. It is a non-system process that originates from the user’s software which he or she installed within his or her computer system. It is likely that the user’s registry has suffered fragmentation, as well as accumulated invalid entries that the user’s PC’s performance was affected. The process is not considered to be CPU intensive. Since the process is a non-system process, the user can choose to enable or disable it without any distinct disadvantage. However, it is usually advisable to keep the process running, unless it is specifically causing problems within the user’s computer system. By running too many processes, the user’s computer system may affect his or her PC’s performance. In order to reduce system overload, the user can use the Microsoft System Configuration Utility to disable process that are launched upon the start-up process. This can be done manually.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. orb.exe. is used by Orb Application, If you shut down orb.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop orb.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Orb Application, from your system.
