The ofcdog.exe process is an executable component program file implemented by the Trend Micro OfficeScan software, which is an application classified as a system security program that was designed by Trend Micro with a set of functionalities used for monitoring and safeguarding Windows-based computers against malicious applications like spyware items, viruses, worms, Trojans, backdoor rootkits and so on. Specifically, the ofcdog.exe process is implemented into one of the service modules that is built into the Trend Micro OfficeScan software, which means the ofcdog.exe process is activated by the Trend Micro OfficeScan application whenever it needs to load the associated module unto the system. Upon its activation, the ofcdog.exe process calls on other associated program files and references required modular system resources as well as certain program-specific modules in order to implement the functionalities of those modules into the Trend Micro OfficeScan software and into the system. The ofcdog.exe process is normally stored in the same application folder where the Trend Micro OfficeScan software was installed in the system, which is usually in a sub directory under the Program Files directory of the system partition.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. ofcdog.exe. is used by Trend Micro OfficeScan, If you shut down ofcdog.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop ofcdog.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Trend Micro OfficeScan, from your system.
