What is  odbc.exe

The file odbc.exe is a process that relates to ODBC or Open Data Base Connectivity. ODBC is a standard C programming language middleware application-programming interface (API) for accessing database management systems (DBMS). The ODBC program is independent of the database systems and the operating system to enable users to develop applications that can be ported to other platforms with few changes to the data access code, both on the server and client side. To install this program, it is important to verify the DSN (Data Source Name) of the computer. An ODBC connection (DSN) can be created on the 32-bit size or on the 64-bit of the system. The 32-bit application can only see the connection in the 32-bit side and similarly, the 64-bit application will only see the connection in the 64-bit side. Users can setup the DSN for the 32-bit application, use %WINDIR%\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe, and for the 64-bit application use %WINDIR%\System32\odbcad32.exe.
