The executable file ocraware.exe is recognized as the program launcher for WordScan by Caere. This program is also known as OmniPage Limited Edition. The WordScan program has the main function of recognizing contents in a document, and allows the user to manage the action on such recognized content. It is also classified as an OCR program (Optical Character Recognition). When users are sunning an OCR program, it will give them the ability to convert data from any document, whether it is a visual document or handwritten, to be converted into media that can be accessed and modified by the computer system. This program can have numerous applications. WordScan is the first program available to personal computers. It was developed by Caere, but was acquired by Nuance.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. ocraware.exe. is used by WordScan by Caere, If you shut down ocraware.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop ocraware.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is WordScan by Caere, from your system.
