The process known as nwmain.exe is identified to be a part of the program Neverwinter Nights. This program is created by Bioware. Neverwinter Nights is a third person role-playing game. This process serves as its program launcher. The game was first released in 2002 and its game developer is Bioware, although it was distributed by Atari. Neverwonter Nights is a game that is set on the Forgotten Realms platform, and it bases the gameplay rules on the most popular role playing game, Dungeons and Dragons. It is designed to be a Massively Multiplayer Online Game (MMOG). The game requires the user to create an active character and the controls are almost entirely mouse-driven. Newer versions of the game have been released since 2002.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. nwmain.exe. is used by Neverwinter Nights by Bioware, If you shut down nwmain.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop nwmain.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Neverwinter Nights by Bioware, from your system.
