nVidia has been developing drivers compatible to the chipset it manufactures. The nVidia nForce RAID driver is created for a RAID array which uses an nVidia chipset or which uses nVidia drivers. RAID stands for Redundant Array of Independent Disks. It is a system which increases the storage of a computer by integrating several drive units into one unit. A RAID driver is important if a user wants to implement RAID technology. nVidia nForce RAID driver contains the nvraid.sys file. The SYS file is part of the RAID technology which nVidia uses. This technology involves the nForce RAID driver device program that connects the operating system of the computer and the additional hardware that enhances the functionality of the computer. Nvraid.sys helps in writing and storing identical data to several disks. Then it enables the nForce RAID driver to increase the speed and the capacity of the storage space of the computer.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. nvraid.sys. is used by nVidia nForce Raid Driver, If you shut down nvraid.sys, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop nvraid.sys, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is nVidia nForce Raid Driver, from your system.
