The motherboard of the computer has data paths and the computer has disk storage devices. Integrated Drive Electronics (IDE) is the standard electronic interface between these computer components. An IDE drive has a 40 pin cable through which data transfer takes place. The IDE ribbon cables allow only two devices for one IDE ribbon cable. nVidia has developed its own IDE Driver and has named it as nForce IDE Driver. The file that is identified with its software is known as nvatabus.sys. The nForce IDE Driver application provides the interface by which the various drives of the computer and the electronic devices attached to it are connected. nVidia drivers may stop working at a certain time. Then there is also need to upgrade each driver in the computer. The nvatabus.sys enables nForce IDE Driver function as expected. The SYS file makes sure that data can be transferred from one device to another.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. nvatabus.sys. is used by nVidia nForce IDE Driver, If you shut down nvatabus.sys, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop nvatabus.sys, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is nVidia nForce IDE Driver, from your system.

A process usually a part of an installed application such as nVidia nForce IDE Driver, or your operating system that is responsible for running in functions of that application. Some application require that they have processes running all the time so they can do things such as check for updates or notify you when you get an instant message. Some poorly written applications have many processes that run that may not be required and take up valuable processing power within your computer.
