Norton Online Backup is the main application that the executable nobuagent.exe is connected with. The process launched by the file is known as Norton Online Backup Agent. This is the main component of the software, which means that you need it if you want the application to do its job of backing up your files online. Most of the time, the service is pre-installed on PCs and laptops as part of the manufacturer’s bundled services. The pre-installed version however is just the free, trial version. You will most likely need to upgrade to a paid version after the trial period expires. The file uses a minimum of 2.24 RAM space, and has a size of at least 2.67 MB. File location is C:\Program Files\Symantec\Norton Online Backup\nobuagent.exe. Although users find the application useful, the limited space given for the backup file, serves as a deterrent for keeping the service. Incidentally, the file is also associated with Dell Data Safe Online. It is the same service, only renamed, on Dell computers.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. nobuagent.exe. is used by Norton Online Backup Agent, If you shut down nobuagent.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop nobuagent.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Norton Online Backup Agent, from your system.
