What is  netwaiting.exe

NetWaiting or ModemOnHold is the name of the background task that is launched through executable file netwaiting.exe. The file may come pre-installed on Dell laptops. The file is typically used for dial-up connections, where the system is able to suspend the Internet connection while the client uses the same phone line to make a voice call. The connection is not terminated while the user is engaged on the line for a voice call. Once the call ends, the connection is made active once again. Generally, the file can only be utilized if the phone line is equipped with a call-waiting feature. This is not a required startup file. You may choose to enable it only when you will be connecting to the Internet via dial-up. File path is usually C:\Program Files\NetWaiting\netwaiting.exe. Approximate file size is 20 kilobytes. The file is commonly left installed on the computer as it has not been found to cause application errors or system crashes.
