It has now been expanded to include all peripherals like digital cameras, media players, network adapters and disk drives. Connection to a USB portal allows data transfer between devices, and for media players, it can also be used to supply electric power. Computers, laptops and smartphones have all accepted USB as the standard and most devices now have multiple USB ports.
