The msp.exe file is an executable application process deployed by the Cycos MRS Service Provider client software as its executable program dispatcher file, which means users can activate the msp.exe process in order to load the Cycos MRS Service Provider client program unto the Windows-based system and access its integrated set of features. The Cycos MRS Service Provider client program is a Windows application classified as an ISP (internet Service Provider) management tool developed by Cycos with a set of features that can allow Cycos subscribers to configure their data, voice and fax subscription settings via a simple to operate UI (User Interface). The msp.exe process is included as one of the resource files and libraries packaged into the installer distributions of the Cycos MRS Service Provider client program, which means the msp.exe file is placed in the system upon the installation of the Cycos MRS Service Provider client software.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. msp.exe. is used by Cycos MRS Service Provider Client, If you shut down msp.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop msp.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Cycos MRS Service Provider Client, from your system.
