This means the msoffice.exe process is activated by the system and the corresponding Microsoft Office XP application whenever the user accesses certain add-in functionalities from the Microsoft Office XP program. This is done by the system and the associated Microsoft Office XP application in order for the msoffice.exe process to execute and load the Microsoft Office XP Component module unto the system.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. msoffice.exe. is used by Microsoft Office XP and Microsoft Office XP Component Module, If you shut down msoffice.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop msoffice.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Microsoft Office XP and Microsoft Office XP Component Module, from your system.
