What is msgsvc.dll
The module msgsvc.dll, associated with Windows NT Messenger Service, provides functions used by network services to send and receive messages. Electronic messaging means the storage, creation, exchange, and management of text, image, voice, or electronic data interchange (EDI) over a communications network. Windows NT Messenger Service is a system notification service that is intended for use within workgroups that was included in the earlier versions of Windows. It is an electronic messaging application that was disabled by default in Windows XP Service Pack 2 and Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1, and was remove completely in Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008. The module msgsvc.dll is a system process that is CPU intensive. Since CPU intensive processes can manipulate system resources and cause speed loss, and since Windows has disabled the application that used this file, it is advisable to uninstall the module from the computer system.
