The process msagent.exe is an instance of an executable or EXE file, and is a component of the software product labeled as SQL Management Studio for SQL Server Agent, which is developed by the company called EMS Database Management Solutions, Inc. During the installation of the program that houses the module, the msagent.exe file is added into the system, where it is registered with a run identifier and an execution command, stored on a file folder, usually located in C:\Program Files, and begin to run to execute itself to provide its function that completes the performance of the software. In addition, the msagent.exe file is downloadable in versions of Microsoft Windows operating systems,which include new or later versions, such as Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003, Windows 2000, Windows NT, and Windows ME.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. msagent.exe. is used by SQL Management Studio for SQL Server Agent, If you shut down msagent.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop msagent.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is SQL Management Studio for SQL Server Agent, from your system.
