The mpssvc.exe is an executable program file that is integrated into the McAfee Privacy Service software, which is a Windows program classified as a system security tool developed with a set of features that can allow users to monitor and safeguard their Windows-based systems against potential data security risks, user privacy threats, hacker attacks, data corruption or loss and system stability problems caused by viruses, backdoor rootkits, Trojans, worms, spyware applications and badware items among other malicious programs. The mpssvc.exe file is specifically deployed by the McAfee Privacy Service application as one of its executable component processes that begins to operate in the background of the Windows system upon the activation of the McAfee Privacy Service software. The mpssvc.exe process is included in the resource files and libraries bundled into the installer distribution packages of the McAfee Privacy Service software, which means the mpssvc.exe file is integrated into the system upon the installation of the McAfee Privacy Service program, which is distributed as a standalone application and as a program packaged into the McAfee Internet Security software suite of system security tools.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. mpssvc.exe. is used by McAfee Privacy Service and McAfee Internet Security, If you shut down mpssvc.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop mpssvc.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is McAfee Privacy Service and McAfee Internet Security, from your system.
