What is  mplsetup.exe

Developed by Ricoh Co. Ltd., mplsetup.exe is the executable file for the SmartNetMonitor or the SmartDeviceMonitor, the software that enables Ricoh printers to directly print from the network even without using a print server. Mplsetup.exe allows the user to select from protocols TCP/IP, or NetBEUI, or IPP according to the printing environment. TCP/IP results to efficient printing using multiple printers. When using the NetBEUI or the IPP protocols, the user can check if the data transmission of the print has completed. Mplsetup.exe activates two methods of printing: Parallel Printing divides equally the copies to be printed among the selected printers in the network, while Recovery Printing allows printing by using other existing printers within the network when the assigned printer is busy. Mplsetup.exe requires administrative privileges from network drive. Both the client and server are required to support long file names or the installation fails. The mplsetup.exe process places a printer system status icon on the taskbar when installation is done.
