The mionet.exe process is an executable program file distributed alongside other EXE application resources, certain SYS driver utilities, some DLL (Dynamic Link Library) modules and specific background process items among various component files and libraries that are used by the MioNet software from Western Digital Technologies. The mionet.exe process specifically serves as the executable program dispatcher file of the MioNet application, which is a Windows program classified as a remote backup, remote access and file sharing tool that was developed by Western Digital Technologies with a set of features for integrating local and remote access to files, folders and even hardware resources of Windows-based computers with the MioNet software. The mionet.exe process is integrated into the installer distribution packages of the MioNet program, which means the mionet.exe file is placed in the system upon the installation of the MioNet software, along with other bundled components.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. mionet.exe. is used by WD MioNet, If you shut down mionet.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop mionet.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is WD MioNet, from your system.
