The process file mfpscdl.exe is a Windows file created by Panasonic Communications for the hardware device Panasonic Panafax. Panasonic Communication Utility that contains the executable file mfpscdl.exe supports this device. It is a port manager application usually found in the file Program files\panasonic\panasonic-dms\port controller folder that provides secure in-bound and out-of-bound access and maintenance of routers, port servers, and other networking equipment. The Intranet/Internet base technology that is employed offers integrated document distribution either by hard copies or by electronic transfer directly to the intended recipients. The functionality of the process mfpscdl.exe extends to the capability to access remote devices in order to connect buffered data, change configuration parameters, and perform other administrative functions. Other features are the lightweight directory access protocol (LDAP) that is used to access thousands of email addresses, authenticated post office protocol (APOP) that enables password encryption when receiving emails, and in-bound routing to transfer received faxes by email to designated recipients.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. mfpscdl.exe. is used by Panasonic Communication Utility, If you shut down mfpscdl.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop mfpscdl.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Panasonic Communication Utility, from your system.
