What is  mediabuttons.exe

The process mediabuttons.exe is a legitimate component of Dell drivers and software that is also known as a Dell MFC Application. The file Dell MFC application is part of the application QuickSet, with the executable process quickset.exe. The application QuickSet is automatically installed in computers and laptops made by Dell Corporation. By allowing users to change the power management settings in the computer, QuickSet helps users to balance performance and power savings particularly on notebooks. When a user encounters a problem while using the Dell computer, QuickSet provides assistance by allowing access to diagnostic routines. This application can also be found in other applications like QuickSet65, Sibelius Scorch, Starry Night Enthusiast, and many others. QuickSet is a non-essential program and users have the option to retain or uninstall it on their systems. Uninstalling the system will not result to a loss in the functionality of the media buttons (the buttons in front of the computer), but some functions like the cd-tray-open will be affected. Clicking "My Computer", right clicking on the drive, and selecting Eject from the options will eject the CD/DVD.
