What is  mdm.exe

Machine Debug Manager is usually installed with Microsoft Office 2000, which is initiated through the file mdm.exe. The file generally installs together with Microsoft Script Editor, which is included in the Office 2000 software. The main purpose of the file is to debug IE errors through the help of a scripting tool. This being said, the process is only mostly utilized by users with advanced technical knowledge of computer systems. The file is actually not utilized with regular computer use. However, it is not recommended that users completely uninstall the file from the system, because it has been found that certain Windows updates need the file, even if the user does not actually utilize it. You may instead stop it from running with every boot-up, by disabling it from your startup tasks. C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\vs7 Debug\mdm.exe is the general file path of the process. The file is a Windows service that runs as a background task when enabled.
