McAfee Security Products are one of the antivirus software that are available in the market. The McAfee Site Advisor software is one of those. The mcieplg.dll file is a component of the McAfee Site Advisor. McAfee software ensures complete virus protection and Internet security. It targets home and business systems. Aside from personal computers and Apple Macs, McAfee can also protect iPhone and iPad devices. Through the mcieplg.dll, SiteAdvisor is able to test websites for spyware, spam and scams. The application allows the user to browse, surf and shop over the Internet knowing that he or she is protected. The SiteAdvisor software is a free browser plug-in which presents the safety ratings of the website. It also functions as a Secure Search Box utility in order that the user can perform activities over the Internet safely.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. mcieplg.dll. is used by McAfee SiteAdvisor, If you shut down mcieplg.dll, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start.
