The lxdvamon.exe process is an executable program file that is used by the firmware utilities and device driver software components of certain Lexmark printer models for implementing its printer status monitoring functionalities into the Windows-based system where the Lexmark printing machine is connected to. Specifically, the lxdvamon.exe process is integrated as one of the components of the Lexmark Printer Card Transfer Monitor module, which is an applet built into these associated Lexmark printer driver software utilities and firmware resources. The lxdvamon.exe file is placed in the system upon the installation of these Lexmark printer firmware components and driver software packages. The lxdvamon.exe file works with other EXE application processes, certain SYS driver utilities, some DLL (Dynamic Link Library) modules, system-wide process items and specific background items among other resource libraries, in order to integrate the printer status monitoring features of these supported Lexmark printing machines into the system. The lxdvamon.exe process is distributed alongside these component files and modules as resources that are packaged into the installer distributions of these Lexmark printer firmware utilities and device drivers.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. lxdvamon.exe. is used by Lexmark Printer Firmware/Driver Software and Lexmark Printer Card Transfer Monitor Module, If you shut down lxdvamon.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop lxdvamon.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Lexmark Printer Firmware/Driver Software and Lexmark Printer Card Transfer Monitor Module, from your system.
